Vivian Sweater

I've decided that I really like knitting with bulky yarns. They knit up so quickly! Being an instant gratification seeking person, bulky yarn allows me to make a larger project and still get some sense of instant gratification. :)

Right now I'm working on a sweater called "Vivian" for myself. I'm already a skein and a half in and loving it. Here are some progress pics:

And here's a picture of what it will hopefully look like when I'm finished:

I still fail at updating this. Oh well.

Here are some knitting projects I've been working on/finished since last posting:

This is a scarf I made for myself. I found some amazing yarn at Lakeside Fibers and figured a scarf would be a good way to use it. LOVES.

I bought myself a kindle (which is amazing, by the way) and decided to make myself a cover for it instead of buying one. It now has lime green buttons on it, but I haven't gotten around to taking new pictures yet.

And finally, I'm making a pair of gloves for my aunt. I finished one and am now taking a break from the complexity of the pattern before I start the second. The only thing is that I definitely need to block it so she can get it over her hand. Sometimes being a tight knitting is NOT a good thing lol.

I REALLY fail at blogging.

Ok, so it's been a ridiculously long time. But I'm going to blame the craziness that is my life for that.

I'm going to try and make an effort to update this blog with my current craftings more often. Recently I finished my first sweater since my "sexy vesty" - it's a shrug that actually turned out really well. Will post pics when I'm not at work and have access to them. Right now I'm working on Lissuin which is a sweater by Ann Kingstone. I'm really happy with how it's turning out. (Since I can't figure out how to just link the title of the pattern, here's a site so you can see it: http://www.annkingstone.com/Lissuin.html.)

Back to work I go now - again, I'll do better updating than I have been! :)

Baby Pauls

Bah! FRUSTRATION GALORE!!!

So I got an amazing skein of Provence Classic Elite Yarn in "Agean Sea" (an aqua color) in a swap on Ravelery which I made a baby hat out of for my niece to be born in about a month. I thought I had enough leftover to make a sweater to go with it. It's for a newborn, how much could it take, right? FAIL. I'm maybe a third of the way through the sweater and have realized I won't have enough. Ugh. Even worse, none of the LYSs carry it this time of year. Double ugh. So much for having it done by the baby shower on Sunday.

I fail at blogging.

Yes, it's true. I think it's because I have pretty much the worst case of "shiney metal object syndrome" in the world. Some of my recent distractions:

-Bought Aion. I'm now a lvl 13 Templar. Enough said.
-Swaps. Just finished the fave color swap (during which I got an amazing farmer's market bag, three skeins of YUMMY yarn, and lots of snacky goodness) so now I'm working on the Wizard of Oz swap. I had had to wait until my most recent paycheck to afford the yarn for my spoilee's large item, so I'm significantly further behind schedule than I'd like to be.
-Moving. Argh! I move in 4 days and don't have nearly enough packed yet. Moving stresses me out. My boyfriend can attest to that. I don't think he likes me very much right now. LoL. On the up side, moving did prompt me to buy new furniture from American. They had an incredible sale going on, so I got a bedframe, dresser with mirror, and two chairs for the breakfast bar in the new apartment. We pick it all up Saturday. *EXCITEMENT!*

In other news, my overtime was just cut at work. Turns out I had learned how to rely on that extra income more than I thought, so I put out a few applications for part time jobs just to see if I got any bites. And I did! The best. Bite. EVER. Friday after work I have an interview at Express!!! Can anyone say employee discount?!? Not to mention being able to see all the new and exciting clothes as they come out! I really, really hope I get it. Really.

Now, back to work. It's my long day...9-7. Then Jacob and I will probably be going to Colin and Jamie's to watch House. They dvr-ed it since the Packer game was on last night. Which I don't want to talk about. Ugh. Someone needs to put Favre in his place.

Sexy Vesty

I finished my vest!!! It actually fits, so I'm thrilled about that. I also really like that I ended up using another color for the ribbing around the neckline and armholes. The only thing I would probably change next time would be to make it a little longer. Otherwise, really happy! :)
