Bah! FRUSTRATION GALORE!!!
So I got an amazing skein of Provence Classic Elite Yarn in "Agean Sea" (an aqua color) in a swap on Ravelery which I made a baby hat out of for my niece to be born in about a month. I thought I had enough leftover to make a sweater to go with it. It's for a newborn, how much could it take, right? FAIL. I'm maybe a third of the way through the sweater and have realized I won't have enough. Ugh. Even worse, none of the LYSs carry it this time of year. Double ugh. So much for having it done by the baby shower on Sunday.

I fail at blogging.
Yes, it's true. I think it's because I have pretty much the worst case of "shiney metal object syndrome" in the world. Some of my recent distractions:
-Bought Aion. I'm now a lvl 13 Templar. Enough said.
-Swaps. Just finished the fave color swap (during which I got an amazing farmer's market bag, three skeins of YUMMY yarn, and lots of snacky goodness) so now I'm working on the Wizard of Oz swap. I had had to wait until my most recent paycheck to afford the yarn for my spoilee's large item, so I'm significantly further behind schedule than I'd like to be.
-Moving. Argh! I move in 4 days and don't have nearly enough packed yet. Moving stresses me out. My boyfriend can attest to that. I don't think he likes me very much right now. LoL. On the up side, moving did prompt me to buy new furniture from American. They had an incredible sale going on, so I got a bedframe, dresser with mirror, and two chairs for the breakfast bar in the new apartment. We pick it all up Saturday. *EXCITEMENT!*
In other news, my overtime was just cut at work. Turns out I had learned how to rely on that extra income more than I thought, so I put out a few applications for part time jobs just to see if I got any bites. And I did! The best. Bite. EVER. Friday after work I have an interview at Express!!! Can anyone say employee discount?!? Not to mention being able to see all the new and exciting clothes as they come out! I really, really hope I get it. Really.
Now, back to work. It's my long day...9-7. Then Jacob and I will probably be going to Colin and Jamie's to watch House. They dvr-ed it since the Packer game was on last night. Which I don't want to talk about. Ugh. Someone needs to put Favre in his place.

Super Hero swap
Now that my spoilee - SundayFunday from ravelry - has received her package, I can post pics of the projects I made for the swap! So here they are:
The finger puppets were straight from a pattern I got on etsy.com. The coffee cozy I made from a pattern on ravelry, but turning it into a cozy took some improvisation on my part. First time I've ever really strayed from a pattern (I'm a big fan of sticking to the pattern lol) but I think it turned out all right.
Next is my project for the Alfred Hitchcock swap!

ARGH!
I just realized I'm gonna have to frog about 4 and a half inches on the back of my vest. :( At some point I must have set down the project and picked it back up without remembering where I was in the pattern, because there a line where it's clearly off. Could just leave it as is, but being a perfectionist, I can't. UGH! And I was so close to being able to connect the front and back! Stupid perfectionism!!!
Up near the top you can see where I got off on the pattern.
This is how far I was (front view) PRE-frogging. *sob*

Long Weekend
Having Friday off was AMAZING. To think I still have one day left in the weekend after today! :)
I haven't gotten as much knitting done this weekend as I would have liked, but a friend of mine lent me Mario Kart for the Wii, so I've been distracted by that.
Still going on the "Sexy Vesty"... I ran out of yarn and the store I got it at (Off the Beaten Path) was nice enough to stay open a little late so I could pick more up after work.
I'm also almost done with my package for the Super Heroes swap I'm in. I realized that I'm all out of one color I need to get finished, so I'm gonna have to pick that up at some point.
I ALSO need to finish up on the cross stitch project for Hunter. His baptism is coming up soon, and I'd like to give it to him then. That's just a matter of washing the material and framing it though.
Well, off I go!

Lunch Break
I officially have two minutes left in my lunch break and then I have to force myself off of the internet (Ravelry in particular) and get back to work.
I was sick for almost a week starting last Wednesday, so I was able to make some pretty serious headway on my "sexy vesty." (hehe I love the name....I'm a dork like that) Now I'm into the complicated part so it might result in a call to Jacqui for advice - and I'm overdue for a call to her anyways. Need to see how VA is!
ANYWAYS, I keep looking at patterns on Ravelry and wanted to start new projects, but it takes every fiber of my being (haha get it? *groan*) to stop from starting yet another new project. I'm also in the middle of a blanket for my Godson as well as finishing up the cross stitch project for him and the various items for my spoilee in the "Super Hero Swap" on Ravelry. So I need to stop looking at patterns. Really. But they're all so pretty......
OK, back to work. I ran two minutes over. Oops. :)

My First Hat!
So I went out and bought some double pointed needles right after work and finished the stitching on my first hat! Now all I need to do is pick out a couple buttons to add the finishing touches! I'd upload pics, but unfortunately my computer takes ten billion years to load things, so I'm waiting for my new computer to arrive before I do that.
That's right - NEW COMPUTER! :) After consulting with my friend Kyle, I went out and bought a new Toshiba laptop. I'm uber excited about having a computer that moves at a halfway decent speed. Yay!
Anyways, back to my projects. When I got the double pointed needles, I also picked up the materials I needed to start on my first swap project from ravelry. It's a super hero swap, and I think I have a pretty good idea for this part of my package. Hopefully my spoilee will like it. :)

CRAFTINESS!
Just recently, Jacob discovered a coffeeshop/knitting store (the realization of mine and Jacqui's plan for some day down the road) which shoved the crafty side of Mallory into full throttle. I joined ravelry.com, a knitting website where you can meet and talk to other knitters (and other crafters in general), which is what prompted me to start up this blog.
I know, I have about a bazillion blogs out there, but this one won't be me whining and complaining about things in my life. Instead I'm going to post updates on projects I'm working on, want to work on, and have finished.
....and maybe a little comment here and there about life. :)
So here it is - a blog about my craftiness. Enjoy!
